Well, I looked it up; the install software that we used back when we last packaged Particle Fire was called Clickteam Install Creator Pro. Unfortunately, I looked it up, and I wasn't able to find any option to run installers created with this package in a silent or unattended mode.

Sorry.

Like I said though, you could always just add these lines to your batch file:

 Code:
copy 'Particle Fire 2.scr' C:\Windows\system32
reg add 'HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop' /v SCRNSAVE.EXE /t REG_SZ /d C:\Windows\system32\PARTIC~1.SCR

The first line should make it possible to select particle fire from the screen-saver dialog, and the second line should make it the default screensaver for whichever user is running the batch file.

RC: Original demo (2000)
had three tanks (Including Liquid falcon, Nemesis, and dreadnought) three maps as listed (Scarab, Ramp, Hels Crossing) and all weapons except nukes and shadow. It also had a glitch where if you added the weapon ents for the nuke/shadow, they would work as all resources for the weapons where there.

I know this, because I played the demo for well over a year before I could convince my mom to write a check to LDA to get the game. LOL I played the HELL out of that demo. Also released several mods I made while using it, including the landshark.

Good to see you RC. Now would be a good time to start redoing your site since it seems some people are still interested in this great old game of TreadMarks!! I for one have always liked your site as well as others that provided access to the mods for this game and I know several others that do also. So get busy and make life easier for yourself and give us a good site to keep everything together in one place. If you do I might even make a new map with some of the added features that Killer added to TMapper2 - I think I still know how - LOL - no really I do!!!

Yeah, my site is a pain to manage nowdays. I need to badly go back and rebuild it from scratch, complete with a management interface. Right now I have to do everything directly from the database, which makes me not want to do it .

Not sure if the versions you are getting are all zip files, but I still have the packaged version that I made into a .exe file for the last full version that I could get my hands on when I made it. If you want it I can upload it to RC's site or wherever someone wants to host it.

Subject: Servers
Topic Replies: 3

I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on what servers I should host.

I was thinking of putting up a semi-holiday server over the next couple weeks (one that would require no downloads). I'm thinking Blizzard, DAS Snowman, Sheep Mines, Fireworks, and Ribbons plus some of the regular weapons on mainly snowy-type maps (Windchill, some of the ice maps, etc.; probably a few greener maps thrown in). Might even make a new weapon or two for it.

I was also thinking of putting up weapons practice servers. For instance, a Missile Practice Server with MRLs, Concussions, and Swarmers. A Turret Practice Server with Lasers and Machine Guns. Maybe a short-range practice server with Ramdrills, Flamers, Dirtball.

I also have my current Tactical Server, which removes all super weapons and the mines, but adds in popcorn, DAS Mirv II, and a mine launcher.

So, the question is, for the next month, which server(s) you'd kike to see (I don't want to run more than two at a time). I can cycle the various weapon practice servers around, if you want.

Also, if you have any preferences for team vs no team, make a note of it.

1. I have a mixed network, but my 2 computers are wired. So I think I should not have problem with bit rate.

2. I've bought the game this morning, but I had the demo before. When I open the game, It still shows 'Demo'' on top, but I have all features of the Full game. Dunno if its why I'm not able to start the dedicated server.

3. I don't have any mods for the moment.

Well, I don't have that much knowledge on how setting up the dedicated server, how do you set the DedicatedFPS in the config file, because the notepad is blank.

1. What sort of network connection are you using? Wireless? Wired? Wireless connections can be quite laggy, depending on how good your signal quality is.

2. Why did making a dedicated server not function?

3. Have you added a lot of mods? Some weapons, such as mines or multi-shot/splitting weapons, can cause significant lag.

Last, for a dedicated server, increase DedicatedFPS in your config file to 10. I'd not recommend it above 10, unless you've got a nice fast LAN set up. 10 is good, generally. Basically, this is the number of frames updated to clients per second, syncing them with the server. Higher is less jerky, less laggy play, providing you have the bandwidth to support it. If you have it higher than your bandwidth can support, though, the lag will go way up.
